Psychotherapy is talking therapy that goes a bit deeper. It is for the things that are hard to shift on your own, like long-standing anxiety, low mood or depression, feeling not good enough, or a sense that something from the past is still shaping how you feel now. Rather than only easing the surface, it helps you understand where these patterns come from and how to change them.
Del and Sandra are both integrative therapists, which means they do not force you into one fixed method. They draw on several proven approaches and blend them around you, the actual person sitting in front of them. Between them they have nearly two decades of experience, so you are in steady, experienced hands.
You can have psychotherapy with us in person at our practice in Teignmouth, Devon, or online by video or WhatsApp from anywhere in the world. Wherever you are, the work is the same: confidential, without judgement, and always at your pace.
People come to us for all sorts of reasons. Here are some of the most common.
When worry or fear has been part of your life for a long time, we help you understand what keeps it going and how to feel calmer.
If you feel flat, heavy or stuck, we work with you gently to make sense of it and find a way back towards feeling more like yourself.
That quiet voice telling you that you are not enough often started long ago. We help you understand it and soften it over time.
When old experiences keep colouring how you feel and react today, psychotherapy gives you space to work through them properly.
If you keep ending up in the same situations or feelings, we help you spot the pattern and understand what sits underneath it.
Sometimes you just know something is not right but cannot name it. We give you the time to work out what it is, together.
Before anything else, you can have a free 15-minute call with us. It is a relaxed, no-pressure way to tell us a little about what is going on and to see how it feels to talk to us. There is no commitment, and you do not have to have it all worked out beforehand.
If it feels right, we book your first proper session. If it does not, that is completely fine too.
You can see us face to face at our practice in Teignmouth, Devon. If that is too far, or you simply prefer it, we work just as well online by video or over WhatsApp. Plenty of the people we see are not in Devon at all, and some are not even in the UK.
Psychotherapy is usually more open-ended than short-term counselling. Some people come for a few months, others stay longer because they are working through something deeper. There is no set number of sessions you have to commit to. We follow what you need, and you stay in control of the pace throughout.
It is not always easy to know what kind of help you need. This might be the right fit if any of these sound familiar.
and you want to understand why, not just manage them for a while.
still feels close, and you sense it is affecting your life now.
and feel ready to go a little deeper this time.
not just feel a bit better for now, but really make sense of things.
which is completely normal, and a free 15-minute chat is a gentle place to begin.
and need someone you can see online by video or WhatsApp, wherever you live.
Book your free 15-minute call and tell us a little about what is going on. You can also send us a message on WhatsApp if that feels easier. In person in Devon or online wherever you are, we are glad you found us.
If something is on your mind before getting in touch, here are the things people most often ask us.
There is a lot of overlap, and we use both. As a rough guide, counselling tends to be shorter and focused on a particular issue you are facing right now. Psychotherapy is usually deeper and more open-ended, and it looks at long-standing patterns and how your past shapes the present. If you are not sure which you need, we can talk it through on your free call and find the right fit together.
It means we do not stick to one single method. We are trained in several proven models and we blend them around you, so the work fits the real person in front of us rather than a textbook. In practice that just means a flexible, human way of working that adapts to what you actually need.
There is no set answer, and no minimum you have to commit to. Some people come for a few months, others stay longer because they are working through something deeper. We follow your pace, and you can stop whenever feels right for you.
