If you live somewhere in the New Forest and you have been thinking about talking to someone, you are in the right place. We are Del and Sandra Wheeler, two integrative therapists with around 19 years of experience each, and we work with people who feel stuck, low, anxious or worn down by something they cannot quite put into words. You do not have to have it all worked out before you get in touch. You just have to be ready to talk.
We offer a broad range of counselling services, from relationship counselling and grief counselling to psychotherapy, psychodynamic therapy, addiction counselling, behavioural therapy and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). We also do gentle, careful trauma therapy, including childhood trauma when that is part of the picture. Because every person is different, we do not force you into one fixed method. We listen first, then we use what actually helps you.
Our rooms are in Teignmouth, Devon, so the New Forest is a fair distance away. That is exactly why we work online. Most of the people we see across the New Forest meet us by video call or over WhatsApp, from their own home, at a time that suits them. It works just as well as sitting in the room, and it means where you live is never a reason to go without support. If you can travel to Devon for an in person session, you are very welcome, but you really do not have to.
Picking a counsellor is a big thing, especially when you have never done it before. Here is what you can expect from us.
Del and Sandra have each spent around 19 years sitting with people through hard times. You are in steady, experienced hands.
We are integrative therapists, so we draw on psychotherapy, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, behavioural therapy and more, and we tailor it to you rather than the other way round.
We are easy to talk to and we will never make you feel silly for what you bring. Whatever it is, we have most likely heard it before, and we are on your side.
We meet most New Forest clients by video or WhatsApp from wherever they are, and you can also come to us in Devon if that suits you better.
Before you commit to anything, we offer a free 15-minute call so you can hear our voices, ask questions and see if we feel like the right fit.
What you tell us stays with us. Your sessions are a safe, private space, whether we meet online or in person.
Every one of these is available to you, in person where practical and online from anywhere.
