If you are in Hampshire and looking for a counsellor, you are in the right place. We are Counselling for Growth, a small, down-to-earth practice run by Del and Sandra Wheeler, who each have around 19 years of experience. We see people in person where that works for them, and we see plenty of Hampshire clients online by video or WhatsApp. You do not need to have everything worked out before you get in touch. Most people who contact us are not sure where to start, and that is completely normal.
We offer a broad range of counselling services and we shape the work around you, not a fixed script. That might mean relationship counselling when things at home feel stuck, grief counselling after a loss, or psychotherapy and psychodynamic therapy to understand patterns that keep repeating. For some people it is addiction counselling, behavioural therapy or CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to manage anxiety and low mood. For others it is trauma therapy, including gentle work with childhood trauma when you feel ready. Whatever brings you here, we will go at a pace that feels safe.
Distance is genuinely not a barrier. Many of our Hampshire clients have never sat in our room in Teignmouth, because online sessions work so well. If you would rather meet face to face and you can travel to Devon, you are welcome to. If online suits your life better, that is just as good. Either way, the care is the same, and you can start with a free 15-minute call to see how it feels.
A few honest reasons people across Hampshire feel comfortable getting in touch.
Del and Sandra have each worked as integrative therapists for around 19 years. You are talking to people who have sat with a lot of life, and very little will surprise them.
We are integrative, which means we draw on different approaches such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy and trauma therapy and fit the work to you, rather than fitting you into one method.
No suits, no jargon, no being talked down to. Just a calm space where you can say things out loud and not be judged for any of it.
We see people in person where practical and online anywhere in Hampshire by video or WhatsApp, so you can have proper support without a long drive.

What you share stays between us, within the usual professional limits. Your privacy matters, whether we meet face to face or on a screen.
