Counselling in Hampshire, in person and online

We work with people right across Hampshire, in person where it suits you and online by video or WhatsApp wherever you are. Wherever you live, you can talk to someone who listens properly and takes things at your pace.

A warm welcome

Counselling & psychotherapy for Hampshire

If you are in Hampshire and looking for a counsellor, you are in the right place. We are Counselling for Growth, a small, down-to-earth practice run by Del and Sandra Wheeler, who each have around 19 years of experience. We see people in person where that works for them, and we see plenty of Hampshire clients online by video or WhatsApp. You do not need to have everything worked out before you get in touch. Most people who contact us are not sure where to start, and that is completely normal.

We offer a broad range of counselling services and we shape the work around you, not a fixed script. That might mean relationship counselling when things at home feel stuck, grief counselling after a loss, or psychotherapy and psychodynamic therapy to understand patterns that keep repeating. For some people it is addiction counselling, behavioural therapy or CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to manage anxiety and low mood. For others it is trauma therapy, including gentle work with childhood trauma when you feel ready. Whatever brings you here, we will go at a pace that feels safe.

Distance is genuinely not a barrier. Many of our Hampshire clients have never sat in our room in Teignmouth, because online sessions work so well. If you would rather meet face to face and you can travel to Devon, you are welcome to. If online suits your life better, that is just as good. Either way, the care is the same, and you can start with a free 15-minute call to see how it feels.

Why us

Why people in Hampshire choose us

A few honest reasons people across Hampshire feel comfortable getting in touch.

Real experience

Del and Sandra have each worked as integrative therapists for around 19 years. You are talking to people who have sat with a lot of life, and very little will surprise them.

Tailored to you

We are integrative, which means we draw on different approaches such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy and trauma therapy and fit the work to you, rather than fitting you into one method.

Warm and non-judgemental

No suits, no jargon, no being talked down to. Just a calm space where you can say things out loud and not be judged for any of it.

Common questions

Common questions from people in Hampshire

If something is on your mind before getting in touch, here are the things people most often ask us.

Do you cover my part of Hampshire?

Yes. We work with people right across Hampshire, from Southampton and Portsmouth to Winchester, Basingstoke and the smaller towns and villages in between. We see people in person where practical, and online sessions mean we can support you wherever you live.

Is it in person or online?

Both. If you can travel to our practice in Teignmouth, Devon, you are welcome to meet face to face. Most of our Hampshire clients choose online counselling by video or WhatsApp, which works just as well and saves the drive.

What can you help with?

A lot of things. People come to us for relationship counselling, grief counselling, psychotherapy and psychodynamic therapy, addiction counselling, behavioural therapy, CBT and trauma therapy, including gentle support with childhood trauma. If you are not sure where your situation fits, just ask.

Is the first call really free?

Yes. We offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can tell us a little about what is going on, ask anything you like and decide whether it feels right. There is no charge and no obligation to book further sessions.

How do I get started?

Get in touch by phone, email or WhatsApp and we will arrange your free 15-minute call. From there we agree a time that suits you, in person in Devon or online anywhere in Hampshire. It really is that simple.

Will what I say stay private?

Yes. Everything you share is confidential, within the normal professional and legal limits, and we will always explain those clearly. This is true whether we meet in person or online, so you can speak freely.

Still have a question? We are happy to talk it through, with no pressure either way.
